To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state if the Department of Agriculture has made any investigation into the rates and fares charged on the new railway from Castlewellan and Newcastle, county Down, as compared with the rates and fares from other stations nearer to Belfast; and, if so, with what result.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Department of Agriculture have made an investigation into the rates and fares referred to in the Question, and are in communication with the Great Northern Railway (Ireland) Company in the matter.
