§ MR. BARNES (Glasgow, Blackfriars)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the fact that the 282 eight hours day is in operation in all His Majesty's dockyards and arsenals at Home, it can also be put into operation at His Majesty's dockyard at Gibraltar.
§ * MR. EDMUND ROBERTSONThe question of the hours of labour in Gibraltar dockyard cannot be considered by itself, as it involves the consideration of the hours worked in other Government establishments and dockyards situated abroad. The Question is therefore by no means a simple one, and before any decision is reached it will be necessary to I consult the War Office and Colonial Office.
§ MR. BARNESWill the right hon. Gentleman undertake to consult the War Office?
§ * MR. EDMUND ROBERTSONThat has been done.
