HC Deb 29 November 1906 vol 166 cc290-1
MR. WALKER

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies † See (4) Debates, clxii., 700. whether the consulting engineers to the Crown Agents, or their representatives, have any financial interest in railway construction that is carried out upon their recommendation; and, if so, what has been the amount of their remuneration from this source during the last ten years; how it is assessed; and from what fund it has been paid.

MR. CHURCHILL

The firms of consulting engineers employed under the Crown Agents to advise the Crown Colony Governments on railway construction or on other public works have no financial interest in such railways or works beyond the remuneration actually paid for their services.
