HC Deb 26 November 1906 vol 165 c1196
VISCOUNT CASTLEREAGH (Maidstone)

To ask the Secretary of State for War what progress has been made with the conversion of the field gun which is to be placed in the hands of the Volunteers; how many guns have been completed; and under what head of the Estimates does the cost of the conversion appear.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The trials are not yet completed. Alterations of the trial gun were found to be necessary and are now in hand. Moreover, a good deal of organisation is essential before the guns could be used.
