HC Deb 26 November 1906 vol 165 c1193
SIR C. HILL (Shrewsbury)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is proposed to publish the accounts of the Uganda Railway for the year 1905–6 and whether he can state what profits have been earned by its working since the close of the last financial year.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The Secretary of State does not consider it necessary in future to incur the expense of publishing the information in a separate form, but most of it will be incorporated in the Annual Report of the East Africa Protictorate. Copies of the Annual Railway Report have been placed in the Library of the House. The profits on the working of the line for the half year ended the 30th of September were estimated at the beginning of October at £40,000.
