HC Deb 22 November 1906 vol 165 cc966-7
MR. CHANCE (Carlisle)

To ask the Postmaster-General, whether there are two male telegraph learners at Carlisle awaiting appointment who have been in the service six years; whether two vacancies exist in the ranks of male telegraphists and, if so, whether he will take steps to fill these vacancies as soon as possible.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The two appointments in question are in process of being carried out and will be completed very shortly. The service as learner, however, dates in both cases from February, 1902.
