§ Sir J. JARDINEI beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the law in force in Malta allows civil marriage, or whether in any class of cases a religious ceremony is essential to validity.
§ MR. CHURCHILLThere is no law in Malta providing for civil marriage, and a religious ceremony would, therefore, appear to be required in all cases.
