I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction have subsidised, out of public funds, the Irish Agricultural Society, as pointed out in a resolution recently passed at the New Ross Urban District Council; and whether, in view of the effect of such action upon the general †See (4) Debates clxiv, 750, 751. trader, he will take steps to have it discontinued.

I beg to refer to the Answer which I gave to a Question on this subject put by the hon. Member for North Cork on 1st August last. † The relations between the Department of Agriculture and the Irish Agricultural Organisation Society are to be further considered at a meeting of the Council of Agriculture which has been fixed for the 27th and 28th of the present month.
