HC Deb 15 November 1906 vol 165 cc98-9
MR. DILLON

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to the statement that the translation of the documents connected with the Denshawi case was conducted under the supervision of Judge Bond; and, if this statement be correct, whether he will see that a translation conducted under the supervision of some independent and impartial person, and not under the supervision of one of the members of the special tribunal, whose action is to be considered by the House, is laid before Parliament.

SIR EDWARD GREY

I do not know whether the translation was supervised by Judge Bond. If it was so, I should regard it as a guarantee of accuracy, because I have every confidence in his independence and impartiality. But in any case, I see no reason to doubt the accuracy of the translation.
