HC Deb 12 November 1906 vol 164 cc1010-1
MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that it was by direction of the Land Judge that proceedings were taken for the recovery of rents due from the tenants on the Lambert Minors Estate, county Galway; and whether it is due to the intervention of any branch of the Irish Administration that the hearing of the processes has been adjourned to the January Sessions.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The estate in question is being managed by the Land Judge on behalf of the Lord Chancellor. I am informed by the Lord Chancellor that the proceedings for recovery of the rents were taken by direction of the Land Judge, on the application of the receiver and those representing the owners of the estate. The order to postpone the hearing of the processes was also made by the Land Judge on the application of the same parties representing the estate, as it was thought that in the meantime a friendly arrangement as to the terms of the purchase, satisfactory to all parties, might be made.
