HC Deb 12 November 1906 vol 164 c1031
MR. HART-DAVIES (Hackney, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether his attention has been called to the practice in the Navy of officers spending their own private funds on decorating and painting His Majesty's ships of war; and whether he will take steps to discourage this practice as much as possible, or cause it to be discontinued altogether.

MR. EDMUND ROBERTSON

There is no necessity for this practice, and the Admiralty are most anxious to discourage it as much as possible.

MR. HART-DAVIES

Will an Order be issued on the point?

MR. EDMUND ROBERTSON

I will consider that.
