HC Deb 12 November 1906 vol 164 c1058
SIR W. J. COLLINS (St. Pancras, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state what action has been taken by the authorities of Guernsey and Jersey with a view to securing that the shipping laws obtaining in the Channel Islands shall be in harmony with the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Acts of the United Kingdom.

*MR. GLADSTONE

The insular authorities have still under consideration the question of legislation in the direction desired by my hon. friend, and I am proposing a conference between representatives of the Islands, the Board of Trade, and the Home Office in order to hasten the matter.
