§ MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the fact that on 12th October Mr. P. J. Kelly, while adjudicating on the bench at the Loughrea Petty Sessions, publicly expressed approval of seditious statements made in court by a person charged with disorderly conduct at Gortymadden; if the Lord-Chancellor has expressed disapproval of Mr. Kelly's statement about grabbers, police, and British Government; and if Mr. Kelly has been called upon to withdraw the statement or resign his seat on the bench.
MR. BRYCEMy attention had not been called to the fact alleged in the Question, and I have no information on the subject. I have, however, referred the Question to the Lord Chancellor, but, owing to the short notice given, there has not been time for the Lord Chancellor's observations to reach me.
