HC Deb 28 May 1906 vol 158 cc53-4
MR. SHACKLETON (Lancashire, Clitheroe)

To ask the Postmaster-General why the 200 assistant clerks (new class) employed in the various departments of the Post Office are excluded from the inquiry which is now being held in regard to Post Office servants' wages.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The class in question is one common to the whole Civil Service, and has been, I presume, on that ground excluded from the inquiry in regard to Post Office servants.
