HC Deb 21 May 1906 vol 157 c926
MR. C. B. HARMSWORTH (Worcestershire, Droitwich)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is in a position to communicate to the House full particulars as to the evidence adduced and resolutions passed at the Shipping Conference recently held in Pietermaritzburg, and, further, to name an approximate date for the suggested Imperial inquiry.

MR. RUNCIMAN

Papers on this subject will be laid shortly, but the Secretary of State is not aware that any evidence was given at the Conference. It is not at present possible to name an approximate date for the Imperial inquiry.
