HC Deb 21 May 1906 vol 157 c940
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY (Limerick, W.)

I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he will take steps to see that the value of Irish butter imported into England every year is ascertained, as in the ease of Danish butter.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY (Somersetshire, S.)

I understand that the question of the improvement of the statistics of trade between Great Britain and Ireland is engaging the attention of the Board of Trade and the Irish Department of Agriculture. Legislation is probably necessary for the purpose.

MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

Will the hon. Gentleman introduce legislation on the subject?

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY

I cannot promise.
