I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he will state at what towns in Scotland Distress Committees have been established under the Unemployed Workmen's Act of 1905, and what sums have been expended by such Committees for the purposes prescribed under Section 1, sub-Section (5) of the Act.

Distress Committees have been established in fourteen burghs, viz.:—;Aberdeen, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Go van, Inverness, Kilmarnock, Leith, † See Col. 28. Paisley, Partick, Dalbeattie. The information asked for in the second part of the Question will be shown in the accounts for the financial year closing on May 15th.
