HC Deb 09 May 1906 vol 156 c1302
ME. STRAUS (Tower Hamlets, Mile End)

I beg to ask Mr. Solicitor-General whether, in view of the evidence and decision of one Judge in the Yarmouth election petition, he will bring in legislation to prevent gross bribery and corruption by amending the Corrupt Practices Acts.

THE SOLICITOR-GENERAL (Sir W. ROBSON, South Shields

): I may say that the evidence and proceedings in the Yarmouth petition will of course be considered, but obviously it would be premature at present to state if any or what legislation may follow.
