HC Deb 09 May 1906 vol 156 cc1314-5
MR. BRIGG (Yorkshire, W.R., Keighley)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if there is any intention on the part of the Government to appoint a Select Committee, to be called the Estimates Committee, for the purpose of examining and reporting on one class of the Estimates precedent to the Votes being discussed in Committee of Supply, as recommended by the Select Committee on National Expenditure which reported in July, 1903.

I can only refer my hon. friend to the Answer which I gave to a similar Question last Thursday,† to the effect that in my view the subject is a fitting one for the consideration of the Committee on Procedure
