HC Deb 09 May 1906 vol 156 c1305
MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland can he state whether any, and, if so, what class of persons are ineligible for holding the post of examiners in the Irish language in the intermediate system; and can he state the reason for this regulation.

* MR. BRYCE

I am informed by the Commissioners of Intermediate Education that the conditions of eligibility for examinerships in Irish do not differ from the conditions which apply to examiner-ships generally. The only explicit ruling upon the subject of disqualification is contained in a decision of the Board that no one who teaches in a school or college in which pupils are prepared for the Board's examinations is eligble for an examinership The reason for this decision is obvious.
