HC Deb 03 May 1906 vol 156 c737
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in the selection of a person for the position of Chancellor of the Royal University of Ireland, care will be taken to choose one who will insist upon adequate measures being taken to prevent riotous and disloyal demonstrations on the occasion of the conferring of degrees.

MR. BRYCE

In making this appointment due regard will be had to the high dignity of the office.
