To ask Mr. Attorney-General if he can state the number of separation orders made by courts of summary jurisdiction in each of the years 1904 and 1905.

(Answered by Sir Lawson Walton.) Table XIV. of the Judicial (Criminal) Statistics for 1904 show that the number of separation orders made by courts of summary jurisdiction in that year was 6,752, viz., 273 under section 5 (2) of The Licensing Act, 1902; 163 under section 5 (1) of the same Act; and 6,316 under section 5 of The Summary Jurisdiction (Married Women) Act, 1895. The figures for last year are not yet complete.
