HC Deb 29 March 1906 vol 154 c1536
MR. MITCHELL-THOMSON (Lanarkshire, N.W.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether the underground telegraph line from London to Scotland has yet been completed, and when it will be open for the public use.

THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. SYDNEY BUXTON,) Tower Hamlets, Poplar

The line is complete, and large sections of it are already in use. The whole is available for use at any moment in case of a breakdown of the overhead wires.
