HC Deb 29 March 1906 vol 154 cc1542-3
MR. JOYCE (Limerick)

I beg to ask Mr. Attorney-General for Ireland whether he has had any communications recently from the borough council of Limerick with regard to the Roxborough Road Schools in that city; and, if so, whether he will state generally the purport of these communications and lay them, with his answers, upon the Table of the House.

THE ATTORNEY - GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. CHERRY,) Liverpool, Exchange

I received a letter from the town clerk of Limerick, dated the 27th February, 1906, applying to me as Attorney-General to commence legal proceedings to secure for the city of Limerick the property referred to. I replied to this letter that I should inquire into the matter as soon as possible. I find that legal proceedings in reference to this school have been going on for a considerable time, and that the matter is a very complicated one, though the property involved is small in value. I do not think that the matter is of sufficient general interest to justify me in laying the correspondence upon the Table of the House.

MR. JOYCE

To whom does this property belong?

MR. CHEERY

was unable to reply to that by way of Question and Answer.

MR. JOYCE

Will you make full inquiry?

MR. CHERRY

I have promised to do so.
