HC Deb 29 March 1906 vol 154 cc1538-9
LORD VALENTIA (Oxford)

I beg to ask the hon. Member for the Elland Division, as representing the Charity Commissioners, whether the Commissioners have considered the scheme, forwarded, at their suggestion, on 1st December, 1905, by the trustees of the Oxford Municipal Charities; and, if so, whether they will be good enough to signify their approval, if approved, before the end of this month, for submission to the April meeting of the trustees.

MR. TREVELYAN (Yorkshire, W.E., Elland)

The recommendations of the trustees are under consideration, and a draft scheme is in course of preparation, for the purpose of determining the part of the endowment applicable to solely educational purposes, in which the recommendations will be followed so far as possible; but the Commissioners cannot signify any general approval until after communication with the Board of Education, and publication of the draft scheme.
