HC Deb 29 March 1906 vol 154 cc1522-3
SIR THOMAS ESMONDE

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state when he proposes to introduce the legislation necessary for the improvement of Arklow harbour.

(Answered by Mr. Bruce.) Before legislation can be introduced, it is necessary that plans of the proposed works shall be prepared by an engineer on behalf of the Harbour Commissioners, and submitted to the Government for approval. I understand that the Harbour Commissioners were so informed by the late Government so far back as 23rd October last, but that the Commissioners have only this month selected an engineer for the purpose.
