§ MR. CHARLES DEVLINI beg to to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that at Benmore, Galway, there-are a number of tenants living upon uneconomic holdings of three, four, and five acres, while in the immediate vicinity there is a large area of untenanted grass lands, and that the tenants have enjoyed in no way the benefits of the Land Purchase Act of 1903, or received consideration from the Congested Districts Board; and whether he will ask the Estates Commissioners or the Congested Districts Board to investigate the case of these tenants.
MR. BRYCEThe Congested Districts Board have purchased the Benmore Estate, but the property has not yet been vested in the Board, and in the 1281 meantime they have no power to dispose of it to the tenants referred to in the Question. The Board will lose no time in disposing of the lands as soon as they are in a position to do so.
