BELL (Derby)I beg to ask the-President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the action of the Great Northern Railway Company in reducing the superannuation allowance to their employees; and whether he will consider the advisability of appointing a Select Committee to inquire into the operation of all the compulsory societies attached to railway employment.

As I informed the hon. Member for Stockport on Thursday last,† I propose to discuss with the authorities of the House, whether any useful purpose would be served by the appointment of a Committee as suggested.
