HC Deb 27 March 1906 vol 154 cc1069-70
MR. SLOAN (Belfast, S.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture if he can say whether the restrictions at present in force in regard to the importation of store cattle into the British Isles are to be withdrawn; and, if so, will he explain on what grounds this decision has been taken.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY (Somersetshire, S.)

The restrictions to which the hon. Member refers cannot be withdrawn without further legislation on the subject. The decision of the Government with respect to it will be stated when the Bill now before the House comes forward for Second Reading.
