HC Deb 26 March 1906 vol 154 cc874-5
MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he will state whether the twenty-nine houses built by the Congested Districts Board at the Battery Park, Stornoway, as dwellings for fishermen, have yet been made watertight; and will he say whether these houses were passed as fit for occupation by Colonel Gore Booth, the engineer to the Congested Districts Board.

MR. SINCLAIR

Steps have been already taken to have the defect referred to remedied. The houses have not yet been taken over from the contractor.

MR. WEIR

How is it houses in that state have been allowed to be occupied?

MR. SINCLAIR

asked for notice of the Question.
