§ MAJOR SEELY (Liverpool, Abercromby)To ask the Secretary of State for War how many men were enlisted for seven years or over for service in the regular Army during the year ending June 1st, 1903; and how many of these men left the Army up to the present time, and for what reasons.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) During the period stated there were six enlistments for seven years and 2,088 for long service, twelve years. These latter are almost all boys. No information is readily available as to the number of these who have left the service, or of the reasons for their so doing.
