HC Deb 22 March 1906 vol 154 c606
MR. WATT

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that the French Government has granted 10,000 francs towards the expenses of competitors at the approaching Olympic games, and that the German and United States Governments have also made grants for the same purpose, he will make a similar donation from the British Exchequer for British competitors.

(Answered by Mr. Asquith.) I have received no application for such a donation, and, as it present advised I see no reason for granting any subsidy from public funds.
