To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that on the night of 12th February last eleven tons of hay belonging to Captain Persse was maliciously burned at Pollnashiimagh near Kilchreest, county Galway; whether the police have discovered the person responsible for this; and, if not, what steps are being taken to protect property in this district.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The fact is as stated in the first part of the Question. The police have not yet succeeded in discovering the offender. They are fully alive to their duty as regards the protection of property.
