HC Deb 21 March 1906 vol 154 c352
MR. ASHLEYM (Lancashire, Blackpool)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the contemplated employment of steam turbines in war vessels, he can state whether provision is being made in the dockyards of suitable workshop, and machinery for their manufacture; or whether it is proposed to rely entirely on private firms to supply them.

(Answered by Mr. Edmund Robertson.) It is proposed to rely on private firms for the supply of steam turbines, as in the case of all other propelling machinery.
