§ MR. O'MARAI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he will state the total amount levied by local boards to provide 382 operating expenses and interest of capital in connection with railways built since 1887, under the Light Railways Acts.
MR. BRYCEThe Local Government Board are not in possession of the information asked for, and could only obtain it by application to the local authorities. I am, moreover, informed that it is doubtful whether the present local authorities could in all cases furnish information of the expenditure prior to 1899, when they came into being.
