HC Deb 21 March 1906 vol 154 cc387-8
MR. CHARLES CRAIG (Antrim, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the house of Michael Allen, at Aglish, Killarney, was entered by a band of disguised and armed men, and a gun and other articles taken and whether the police have made any arrests in connection with this matter.

MR. BRYCE

I am informed by the police authorities that a complaint to the effect stated has been made to the local police, but it was not alleged that any article except a gun was taken. The police have fully investigated the matter, but have not so far obtained sufficient evidence to justify them in making any arrests.

MR. FLAVIN

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that at the last Assize the Judge congratulated the Grand Jury on the peaceable condition of this country?

MR. BRYCE

I believe that is so.
