HC Deb 19 March 1906 vol 154 c79
MR. BROOKE (Tower Hamlets, Bow and Bromley)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been called to the charges upon local rates, consequent upon the decisions of the Law Courts in reference to combined drainage and sewers; and whether he proposes to introduce legislation to relieve ratepayers of the burdens arising from such decisions.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. JOHN BURNS,) Battersea

My attention has been called to this subject. It is one of considerable difficulty, and I am not in a position to make any promise with regard to legislation upon it this session.
