HC Deb 16 March 1906 vol 153 c1531
MR. WILES (Islington, S.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he is aware that telephone posts are now being placed in St. Peter's Street, St. Alban's, thereby disfiguring one of the most beautiful streets in the home counties; and, if not, will he institute an inquiry as to an alternative route for these poles.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I am giving attention to this matter, and if a practical alternative route can be devised I should be very glad that the trunk line should avoid St. Peter's Street. But so far the Corporation have been unable to obtain the necessary wayleaves for an alternative route.
