HC Deb 15 March 1906 vol 153 c1404
MR. SLOAN (Belfast, S.)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is intended to give a grant from the public funds to Princess Ena of Battenberg on the occasion of her marriage to the King of Spain; and, if so, what opportunity, if any, will be given to discuss the same.

MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

Before-this Question is answered, I wish to ask you, Mr. Speaker, if it is not against the-practice and rules of this House to put Questions concerning members of the Royal Family.

* MR. SPEAKER

I do not know of any such practice. If there is any suggestion of a grant of money being made, I think there is no objection to such Questions being put.

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

It is not proposed to make any grant from public funds.
