MR. T. L. CORBETT (Down, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, his attention-has been called to the increase of monastic and conventual institutions, and whether he will consider the need for their inspection; also whether he has any official information as to the regulations affecting the inspection of such institutions in other countries.

* THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. GLADSTONE,) Leeds, W.

I have no official information on the subjects mentioned in the Question and I do not propose to-introduce legislation to deal with this matter.

MR. T. L. CORBETT

Will the right hon. Gentleman inquire as to the regulations in other countries?

* MR. GLADSTONE

The question is a very old one; I will consider the point.
