HC Deb 15 March 1906 vol 153 c1432
MR. LONDSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received particulars of a shooting incident in the Castlepollard district of county Westmeath; is he aware that the house of a man named Clinton was fired into; and have any arrests been made in connection with this matter?

MR. BRYCE

I am informed that on the 2nd inst. a gun shot was fired into the house of Patrick Clinton, who had been engaged in litigation with a neighbour as to a debt for money. An arrest was subsequently made by the police, but the accused was discharged by the magisstrates.
