HC Deb 14 March 1906 vol 153 cc1222-3
MR. FIELD

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can arrange a minimum weekly wage of 24s. a week for all labourers in Government employment in Dublin.

(Answered by Mr. McKenna.) A weekly wage of 24s. would be, I have reason to believe, very greatly in excess of the prevalent rates for labour paid outside the Public Departments in Dublin, and I can give no such promise as that asked for by the hon. Member.
