HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 c895
MR. FIELD

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, if he will explain why the veterinary inspectors of the animals division are allowed to be members of the local veterinary medical associations of Great Britain.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) I can see no objection to our veterinary inspectors being members of veterinary medical associations, which are bodies that are mainly concerned with the discussion of matters of professional and scientific interest. They may be trusted, I think, to bear in mind the limitations which naturally attach to them as members also of the public service.
