HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 cc934-5
MR. JAMES CAMPBELL

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury if orders have been issued for the discontinuance of the refreshment room which has been established for the use of visitors to the Dublin Museum, and of persons attending the adjoining Institutions of Science and Art; whether the Board of Visitors have strongly protested against the discontinuance, as certain to cause the greatest inconvenience to visitors and students; and will he cause further inquiry to be made before final action is taken.

MR. McKENNA

These orders have been given as a result of a general inquiry instituted by the Treasury into the needs of the National Library. I understand that the Board of Visitors protested to the Department of Agriculture, but that the Department did not support them, and I see no reason for any further inquiry.
