HC Deb 09 March 1906 vol 153 c772
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General why, in view of the repeated assurances of successive Postmasters-General, that female telegraphists should not be placed upon male telegraphists' duties where any undue hardship would be inflicted upon the latter, in the Enniskillen post office, where the amount of night duty performed by the male staff is above the average, a female learner has been placed upon one of the male day duties during the past six months, and permanent arrangements made which will increase the number of night duties imposed on the male staff.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I will cause inquiry to be made in regard to the distribution of work at the Enniskillen post office, and I will send a reply to the hon. Member.
