I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the coinage of silver will now be allowed in Australia.

The question of the introduction of a special silver coinage for Australia, which has been under consideration for some time, will be further discussed verbally with Sir John Forrest, the Treasurer of the Commonwealth, who recently arrived in England.
