§ MR. MURPHY (Kerry, E)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state the average reductions on judicial and non-judicial rents fixed before and after the Land Act of 1903; and if he can also give the average number of years' purchase paid for land before and after the Act, inclusive and exclusive of the bonus.
MR. BRYCEFull particulars respecting the reductions in first and second term judicial rents are set out in the tables which appear in the appendices to the annual Reports of the Irish Land Commission. In these Reports, and also
†See (4) Debates, cliii., 304.455 in the Report of the Estates Commissioners, will be found information as to the average number of years' purchase in cases where advances have been made under the Land Purchase Acts before and after the year 1903. The tables in the Reports do not include the bonus. It would be a very troublesome task to add the bonus to the tables, but the hon. Member can without difficulty calculate its amount in any case or group of cases.
§ MR. KILBRIDE (Kildare, S.)Is it not the fact that the effect of the Land Act of 1903 has been to raise the standard of value by six years' purchase?
MR. BRYCEI should not think so, but I have no information before me to enable me to say definitely.
