HC Deb 05 March 1906 vol 153 c77
CAPTAIN HERVEY (Bury St. Edmunds)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if there will be any clause in the constitution of the Transvaal or Orange River Colony to prevent the exclusion of the British language from the elementary schools.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The question of the treatment of the two languages is under consideration in connection with the new constitution. No advantage is likely to be gained by premature and piecemeal statement as to particular clauses.
