HC Deb 05 March 1906 vol 153 cc89-90
MR. BELL (Derby)

On behalf of the hon. Member for Stockport I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he intends to bring in a Bill to enact that the same provisions shall apply in regard to railways for notices of accidents as are now proposed in the case of mines, quarries, factories and workshops.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE,) Carnarvon Boroughs

If the proposals referred to as to notices of accidents in mines, factories, etc., are adopted by Parliament, a corresponding change can be made in the definition of a reportable accident, so far as accidents on railways are concerned, by an order under the Regulation of Railways Act, 1871, and legislation for the purpose will therefore not be necessary.
