HC Deb 05 March 1906 vol 153 cc98-9
MR. BEALE (Ayrshire, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether, in the event of any inquiry being directed into the question of a close time for herrings in the Firth of Clyde, he will direct that the question of the suffering and loss which a close time would inflict on the fishermen of Girvan, Ballantrae, and the Ayrshire coast shall be considered; and that the effects of trawling and of trammel net fishing shall be separately considered.

* MR. SINCLAIR

The subject is under the observation of the Fishery Board, who will, no doubt, bear in mind the points mentioned by my hon. friend.
